1.Wildlife filmmaker Naresh Bedi has been conferred with V Shantaram Life Time Acheivement Award at 14th edition of 2016 Mumbai International Festival (MIFF), Mumbai.
2.Three persons of Indian-origin - Chennupati Jagadis, Jay Chandra and Sajeev Koshy have been awarded 2016 Medal of Order of Australia, Australia’s highest civilian honour for their contribution in various fields.

Madhya Pradesh won Union Government's Krishi Karman Award in maximum food grains production category for year 2014-15 for 4th consecutive year. MP produced 328 lakh tonnes foodgrains in 2013-14 period. Other winners are - Chhattisgarh(growth in production of pulses), West Bengal (good agriculture production), Odisha (best performing state in foodgrains production among category-II states).
   

Israeli journalist Gideon Levy and Palestinian pastor Mitri Raheb won 2015 Olof Palme human rights prize for their fight against occupation and violence.
   

Indian-origin cancer research expert Harpal Singh Kumar has been honoured with Knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II for his influential work on prevention and treatment of cancer.
   

Indian writer Anuradha Roy won $50,000 DSC Prize for South Asian Literature for her novel 'Sleeping on Jupiter'.
   

Indian lawyer and human rights defender Henri Tiphagne has been selected for 2016 Amnesty International Human Rights Award.
   

Indian Author and foreign affairs expert Nisid Hajari has won the prestigious 2016 William E. Colby Award for his book Midnight’s Furies: The Deadly Legacy of India's Partition.
   

Ilaiyaraja has been selected for Kerala Tourism’s Nishagandhi Puraskaram 2016. Award carries Rs 150000, citation and a statuette.
   

ISRO chairman A.S. Kiran Kumar received Reva University's Lifetime Achievement Award.
   

Government will introduce a new category of award - Most Film Friendly State/UT under National Film Awards to be conferred at the 63rd National Film Awards in May 2016.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been chosen for K Veeramani Social Justice Award for his contribution for for upliftment of weaker and marginalised sections.
   

Alejandro Aravena (Chile) won 2016 Pritzker Architecture Prize, best known for his work with “do tank” Elemental, an architecture group that aims to tackle poverty using a participatory approach that engages local communities in early stages of design process. He will receive a $100,000 grant and a bronze medal.
